@katinoxford.bsky.social I just got Hell's Heresies for myself as a Christmas present. Looking forward to it.

hello. It's my first Christmas without Marcia. And it's a white Christmas, which she would've loved.

i'm cleaning the pellet stove, and my earphones aside from sound protection are feeding me Robbie Robertson's somewhere down the crazy river… This song is definitely on my desert Island soundtrack

@katinoxford.bsky.social oh yay, I found you again. Used to chat with you a bit on the thing now known as X (I bailed on that platform for slightly obvious reasons) and then life and assorted other things gotten in the way and you're here. I think I have to go buy a book…

first snow of the year here was on Wednesday, yay us?

It's been a long while since I last spoke to y'all. After several months filled with health challenges, Marcia passed away on 15 October. We had a nice long run, more than 27 years.

it's been a rough couple of weeks with Marcia's health, and we're not out of the woods yet. But we're getting by.

In other news, it's coffee roasting night:

This is what the forecast looks like for the days following the day that you get your fishing boat out of storage…

on Monday, we had another 4 inches of snow for Spring... it didn't last long though it was mostly gone within 24 hours. Tonight, roasting coffee - I've got Kenyan from Sweet Maria's

Tonight, I'm roasting a pound of this Guatemalan from Sweet Maria's... that aside, this was kind of a shitty day.

Roasting the 2nd pound of this Guatemalan from Sweet Maria's in the Behmor roaster. The 1st pound is still resting upstairs, we should start brewing it in about four or five days. My resting time is generally about 12 to 14 days between roast and first brew.

Georgia, our rescue dog, goes into the water as soon as there's room between the shore and the ice.

Women couldn’t have their own credit until 1974. Marital rape became illegal nationwide in 1994.

We are ONE generation into women having a CHANCE at life & it’s proved so intolerable America would rather end itself than allow such a thing to continue.

Sunrise the other morning... from my front yard.

this is my #coffee roasting set up: the roaster is in a vent hood that exhausts to outside, the green coffee beans are staged on top of the cart to the left-hand side. I generally roast once every seven or eight days.

Finally an overnight above 0°F, it got all the way up to the mid-teens before the dog and I geared up for our daily 2.5 mile walk. Better than 3.5 mph speed over the whole thing, which is pretty good when most of the walk is on snow and lightly covered ice.

So, hello BlueSky peeps. Decided to take the plunge. For fun, here's a sunrise view from the home office to get things off on the right foot.
