#writingcommunity AI pushers have tried to gaslight us for years even though we knew our harvest books were being regurgitated. This paper adds to the pile of evidence.
A new paper from Stanford adds further, incontrovertible evidence that LLMs memorize training data.
The authors showed that copyrighted works can be extracted from every LLM they tried: GPT-4.1, Gemini 2.5 Pro, Grok 3, and Claude 3.7 Sonnet.

Makes me recall a clip I saw of Joe Rogan enthusiastically forcing an musician to listen to genAI music he'd prompted as he heaped praise on the model that had generated it.
The musician responded, "What about AI podcasts? They have those, now."

i think what gets overlooked is that part of the humor and charm of edits like these is that you're perfectly aware that someone sat down and spent their own time making it. they chose to do something cool or silly or stupid or genius, regardless of the results
that human element elevates the work
