I confess I haven’t done the reading but has anyone been treating the concept more seriously than flying cars? It’s so impractical it shouldn’t be worth a feasibility study.

I’ve started writing my thoughts in PowerPoint structure and then tried going back to write paragraphs or chapters in that layout.

When I can’t write I can still PowerPoint, and vice versa.

I thought business school taught several lessons about building products that meet demand, not demanding consumers that meet products?

My resume is still poorly written, all these years later 🤦‍♂️ if I ever need it in the future I’m going to make it look like the resumes coming out of North Korea. They’ve got the format down 🦖

We need dashboard maintenance and reduction efforts. In this presentation I walk the audience through the interface of my new Dashboard-Reduction Dashboard… 🦖

I have contemplated doing some long-term scientific research into Copilot but I don’t present at conferences anymore and don’t work for a team that publishes content. 🤔 I have thoughts about both how to cause leakage, and how to measure leakage.

Everyone seems spread out to me. And I know I’m not the only person who stopped or cut back on infosec posting as a result.

If we ever get critical mass somewhere, I’ll upload a dinosaur portrait and come hang out! 🦖

Do I still count as a security researcher if crime gangs are still sending me harassing packages in the mail? I’ve been out of the game for a few years now. A literal security dino 🦖

I love engineering debt. They’re the reverse mortgages of software development. And after watching the first two-thirds of the MC Hammer documentary I have learned that the money never stops flowing… 🦖

As a reminder, by a large majority the clergy voted and preached in favor of this administration. 🤷‍♂️ A large majority.

This happens in software, too! A common issue will be a build framework or test automation framework will stop supporting certain OS or configuration options, so everyone stops testing or supporting those platforms

It’s easy to assume all software is buggy and poor quality because of corporate greed and cost cutting. But it turns out there are quite a few reasons why these bugs and user-hated features keep appearing everywhere. They take for a fun deep-dive, at least for me as a former software engineer

I thought about creating a weekly blog called “Enshitification Explained” after encountering a feature with zero (literally zero) customer demand. The feature didn’t make it out of beta testing after furious customer feedback, but it would have boosted the KPIs tracked by the engineering team. 🤦‍♂️😤

Who are you going to believe, thousands of scientists with decades of data, or some corrupt politicians with a personal agenda?

Sometimes I doubt your commitment to Sparkle Motion 🦖

My research lab once wrote an AI based solution to a customer problem. We asked to do it without AI (the optimal solution could be found deterministically), and they refused.

“We can’t sell this to our own customers if it’s not AI.”

I wonder what the failure rate is for them? 🤔

Are there any experts in CAN-SPAM in the house?

Does unsolicited email whose unsubscribe link requires login, password reset, MFA registration (if not already done), and by then it’s forgotten you were trying to unsubscribe…does that unsubscribe link limbo under the bar of obligations for email?

Look, this is a company with a $1.4 Trillion market cap. A trillion dollar pay package is a very reasonable price to offer somebody for running the company into the ground. While also managing five other companies and a volunteer job in the government. 🤷‍♂️

We should be asking why he isn’t paid more!
