I’m an artist and fabricator who loves science, nature, art and common decency. Basically, a dork (I was trying to write “speck of dust” but it autocorrected to “dork” and it’s not wrong so I’m keeping it). Pronouns: she/her
Lenten rose. I’ve never been more grateful for Spring.

Happy World Book Day from this preciously tiny book
Not all big stories are in big books. This children’s book from 1740 may be about giants, but it’s only 7cm tall!

It’s hard to accept that what we can do to help is limited, but it’s nice to realize that we can work together with others and exceed our wildest expectations. Something I think we should take away from this is that we need to trade perfectionism for community.

happy first birthday to Bluesky, and what a year it's been!

with every day, the need for an open network that puts people first becomes increasingly clear. we're glad to be building this with you. after all, the heart of a social network is the people.

One day at a time. Don’t forget to reach out and find ways to get together with friends and/or family and share support sometimes. It’s easy to get stuck in your head and feel alone.

Taking this reminded me of being a freshman in high school and getting my first roll of black and white film. It was so fun seeing things in a new way.

I took this about a week or so ago. I used my night sky app and it told me that the bright spot in the upper right was Mercury. I forgot to write down what the other two were. Names or not, it was a beautiful sight.

I’m changed my handle from woodsy1, bit it’s still me. I pretty hastily made the first one, not sure if I’d like Bluesky. This new one is from a quote from Eihei Dogen Zenji, my favorite Zen master. “The whole universe throughout its ten directions is One Bright Pearl.” It’s challenging to see.

Good read about powerhouse behind Maine’s #NativePlants Wild Seed Project, whose seeds I have used myself. Especially good for NE #gardening but lots of overlap with Midwest too. Also important idea of future-proofing for climate change by planting adjacent species.🌱 downeast.com/land-wildlif...
This Woman Wants to Destroy Your Lawn
Heather McCargo and the Wild Seed Project want us all to think differently about what we plant (and yeah, to think about it in the winter).
