I hate that when the house is a mess, I spend 2 hours cleaning up the big things and then 8 hours cleaning up the “oh there’s too much paper towel hanging out. Roll that back up” type of stuff.

I feel you. Community organization feels meaningless in a place where we have evidence that that’s futile. What keeps me going is that they want us to give up and move on. By not doing so and spreading awareness and helping our fellow man instead, we’re winning in small ways. Those lead to big wins.

If you want to defend Elon and say he wasn’t doing the gesture we’re all thinking it is, recognize that those who use that gesture latch on to anything they can including things that look similar to their own symbols. They will take this and run with it and be emboldened regardless of intent.
