Today's Irish Examiner has a piece about me, writing and the weird kaleidoscope of events that come together to influence who you are and what you write. And at the heart of it all are my sons.

Thank you @deirdremcardle for this funny and kind interview and Dan Linehan for the photo.

Volunteering at book festivals is a great way to get experience for anyone considering applying for bookshop work, I always look out for it on CVs
I LOVE the @dublinbookfest.bsky.social so much, in many ways it started my career in books back in 2017 (I think) when I first volunteered at the festival.

I'm unbelievably excited to be doing a school event this year with the festival, and of course it's all about poetry!

This is The Lonely Only Dinosaur in a nutshell.
The question is how far would you go to make a friend and what happens if they're not exactly as you imagined?
Marsha the dinosaur loves living in the jungle, but notices that everyone seems to have a friend except for her. When she spots another, smaller dino, she's VERY eager to become best friends. To the point where she comes on a teeeeeeny bit too strong.
