RGANIZE CAM MONEY David Dayen @ddayen 21h Are we cool with a Democratic presidential frontrunner raising money from billionaires to oppose a billionaire wealth tax in advance of a 2028 campaign where he'll need a lot of money, likely from billionaires? The measure faces opposition from Silicon Valley investors and others, including Gov. Gavin Newsom. At The New York Times DealBook conference this month, Mr. Newsom said a wealth tax was not pragmatic. The Democrat, who has been close with people like Mr. Page, is raising money for a committee to oppose the measure. The committee received a $100,000 donation from the venture capitalist Ron Conway in November, according to state campaign finance records. 35 209 609 29.1K

It calls for a ceasefire, arms embargo to Israel, and recognition of Palestine.

Just 8% of Democrats approve of Israel's military action in Gaza.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE August 26, 2025 Coalition Calls on DNC Members to Bring Gaza Resolution 18 to the Floor Minneapolis, Minnesota - Today, the Democratic National Committee's (DNC) Resolutions Committee killed Resolution 18: A Resolution in support of Palestinian lives. Resolution 18, introduced by DNC member Allison Minnerly, seeks to invest American dollars in America by suspending U.S. military aid to Israel and conditioning weapons transfers on compliance with U.S. and international law. After Resolution 18 was defeated, DNC Chair Ken Martin pulled his Resolution 3, which was in discordance with the Democratic base, expressing a desire to hear voices in support of Palestinian lives. A coalition of DNC members and grassroots organizations are asking to bring Resolution 18 to the full DNC floor with a clear message: we will continue to fight for the will of the voters. While Resolution 18 failed in committee, party rules allow members to bring it to the full DNC and to require a recorded roll-call vote if at least 25% of members present support the request. "The DNC membership has the power to stand up and let the public see where Democrats really stand," said Allison Minnerly, a 26-year-old DNC Member from Florida. "A roll-call vote is the minimum standard of transparency in a democracy." The campaign calls on every DNC member to: • Publicly pledge to support a roll-call vote on Resolution 18 from the floor; • Reject voice votes that hide accountability; • Stand with Democratic voters, the majority of whom oppose blank-check military aid toward an ongoing genocide.
