fun fact, mother4's discord server is approx 31GB after ~6 years, Def interesting gives a neat statistic for what self-hosting a chat server with around 20 members looks like storage wise.

Ok I ran around all the discord clone slop platforms.
Everything sucks
Sharkord - Mostly feature complete and not half bad but its too early to use and is more intended for selfhosting.
Zulip - Feature complete, wierd, but it is pretty decent (selfhosting intended primarily)
