i miss the early internet. people were like “you gotta see this dude. this cat sure is long.” and they were right. it was really long. it never shoulda gotten any more complicated than that.

I was reading through some old journals. I wrote this down.

I said to Papa “It’s hard being the black child of a white man”

Granny replied “It’s hard being black”

Anyone want to pay me to stay home, be cute, make art, and learn?

I could get so much done if I didn’t have to go to work 😭

It’s here!
Someone ordered this for me for Christmas and it’s been on back order.

Ok, ok, I said I wasn’t going to buy anymore records for a while but I just happened to catch the preorder on this. They’ve been selling out so quick!

Get your gardens ready!

I’m unfortunately a very picky eater but I want to grow enough to make sure my friends and larger community are fed!
The White House now says that tariffs on China will also be doubled from 10% to 20%.
BREAKING: Trump says 25% tariffs on Canada and Mexico will start tomorrow.

I don’t share much about my odd family situation online. There’s honestly still a lot I don’t fully understand. From the age of 8 weeks to almost 4 years I was raised by my godfamily. My godmother passed when I was 10. My godbrother sent me some old videos today. She was my mom. I miss her so much.

Here’s what I listened to today

Still working on listening to all of the 400+ records in my collection

I’d never heard of Boz Scaggs and couldn’t tell you where the record came from but I really enjoyed it.

I’ve got a lot of cheap or free records over the years. I now have about 400 full albums and singles. I sat down and went through them and I’ve only listened to about 75. I’m trying to listen to all of them before I buy more. Here’s what I listened to this week.

Maybe you're not “bad at resting”... maybe society has conditioned everyone to believe that exhaustion is a personality trait. We're gonna unlearn it. Dare to nap. Sleep out of spite. Rest in rebellion.

Spent the day off of my phone and in the garden.

It doesn’t look like much yet but there are 17 types of plants here!

I went to a neighborhood meeting tonight and took some notes. Feels good to hang out with neighbors IRL and help to improve my little corner. Also, the mayor spoke.

If I’m not thinking about all of the fuckshit the government is doing, I can honestly say that my life is the most peaceful it’s ever been.

I’m at work or in class 6-7 days a week and extremely tired.

I’m still incredibly poor

I still have a lot of trauma to work through

But

Junk journaling is a reminder that creating is play. Spending time with my mind and seeing what happens. It’s for me.

Making art that people want to buy is so validating but thinking about creating things that people want to buy sucks some of the joy out of it.
