I don't think a lot of these read as "Drow" exactly given that the stereotypical black skin and white hair seems to be mostly absent from these portraits. Still, a lot of character in these. All of them work for various flavors of disgruntled elf.

"This assignment on the drow has been a learning experience for me," claims David Day. "Of course, I had heard of Drizzt, the dark elf, but that was about as far as it went..."
A warrior elf with long hair looking back over her shoulder. Beads decorate her hair and she holds a scimitar and shield in her hands. Another blade in its scabbard can be seen on her back. A thin, wiry elf with long bedraggled hair snarls while holding a large horn in both hands. His chest is bare but a shawl is drapes around his elbows and droops below the shoulders. A smirking elf with pronounced cheekbones. His hair if pulled back in a ponytail. The hilt of a blade can be seen in front of his face and a mask shaped brooch pins his cloak. An elf woman with voluminous hair wear a jeweled circlet and holds a hand crossbow upward. She has large leather pauldrons and a low cut top.

This whole gallery feels very quintessential 3E, which makes sense given Todd and Sam were staff artists at WotC and worked on the initial art design for 3rd edition. Todd's work in particular is all over early 3E WotC Releases.
A gnome with bony, sharp features draws a sword from a scabbard on his back. His black hair is short and tussled. Twigs with leave stick out from it and behind his ears. His eyes are narrow beneath bushy brows and his goatee is shaped into several small points. He wears a heavy cloak over splint mail. A dwarf shoulders a heavy mace and smiles warmly. His beard is segmented into three sections with a small gap between chin and side burns. His upper lip is clean with mustache. He wears heavy looking studded armor and a helmet with a pattern resembling a Celtic knot above the forehead. An elf monk grips a pair of nunchaku in her wrapped hand. She has a short brown mullet and sharp patterns tattooed or painted around her brow, cheeks and neck. She wears a simple shirt and earring in her left ear. A dwarf rogue with small features looks sternly over her shoulder as she works to pick the lock on a wooden door. Her hair is in a tight but large bun on the back of her head. She is wearing a baggy robe with large spacious sleeves. A circle of what may be blades are held along the sleeve of an inner garment on her left hand.

"Third Edition D&D is all about breaking old molds, so we attempted to come up with combinations of character races and classes that wouldn’t have been possible or likely before..."

His remaining hair is long with two braids ending in beads carved to look like laughing faces with their tongues out. He wears an elaborate shirt with embroidery and two chest pockets A hairy half-orc looks side eye at the observer from behind and open book in his hands. His eyebrows are bushy and his medium length hair has a strong widows peak and is pulled into a tight, short ponytail. He has a studded leather coat over a ruffled shirt and wears small reading spectacles. A man of indeterminate species with a stern expression and dark features stares warily at the observer. His face is painted with a triangle design across his forehead, cheeks and bridge of his nose. His long dark hair is pulled back and braided in several places, including two braids from his sideburns on each temple that are then tied together below his chin. He holds some sort of polearm across his shoulder and wears furs and a tooth necklace. A gnomish or half long woman sits cross legged atop a log with a finger to her temple. Her hair is a tall flat top and she has a sort of wavy spiral painted or tattooed on the cheek below her left eye. She is wearing corseted leather armor and leather boots that extend to her mid thigh. A short sword and quiver hang from her belt. A crossbow can be seen on the back. Perched on her right shoulder is a cawing raven.

Swashbucklers pt.2

The swashbuckler gallery has some really great portraits. I don't know that they all read as "swashbuckler" but it doesn't really matter. A lot of the portrait articles/galleries have titles that only line up with a handful of their pieces.
A smiling woman with a round nose and face and full lips. She is wearing a striped head wrap over her hair that is billowing in the breeze. She has a star patterned wrap of some kind around her torso with a single armored shoulder pad showing. A spear can be seen behind her shoulder with an eye painted on its top. An elf in a black tricorn hat wearing a large coin as an earring and looking at something with faint disapproval. A head scarf sticks out from below the hat. He has a couple small scars on the lower part of a very square jaw. He is wearing a jacket with a large collar and a shark tooth necklace. A hooded old man with a white pointed beard smirks and raises an eyebrow. His bald head has a patch of liver spots showing. A brooch with dagger-like pin holds his cloak and he himself is holding a hilted dagger with the blade facing down.
