It's weird how election post-mortems focus on what the Ds did/didn't do ... by July of 2020, there were so many FJB icons on trucks in AZ that I thought maybe it was a style package. The Rs have a blind hate mill, & Ds' response is to scuttle whoever becomes unpopular.

I think there are modern protest songs, but they're songs like Nirvana's Smells Like Teen Spirit, Bright Eyes' Road to Joy, Big Thief's Not ... songs of feeling caught but having no answer (and maybe those songs explain modern screw-it political cynicism).

I think it's interesting that what the Christians see as "wokeness" is kind of an alternate morality system, and so a real threat to their morality rules.

I'll make my second post about rollerblading: I think 90mm wheels are the threshold where it starts to be a different experience, because that's where leaning side to side creates enough leverage w gravity to move you, making it feel like floating.

I'll make my first post paradoxical: I think the highest-potential solution to internet disinformation & polarization (& to Trumpian excesses) is probably developing more local engagement, trust, communication. Like I wish there were a way to make Midwestern supper clubs cool.
