Why is #handmaidstale season 6 so bad? Some of the worst tv I've been unfortunate to watch (still in the middle so no spoilers).
Nothing makes sense, internal logic abandoned, characters jump between places, feels ridiculous and half-assed

When someone walks towards you with a baby stroller do you also glance back after they pass you to make sure there's a baby inside and not a creepy doll or is it just me?

If you're liberal or progressive, don't be too happy today. Cons got almost the same amount of votes as Libs, and that's after NDP voters went Lib. Cons increased their seats more. The next election is going to be a two party system with landslide Cons.

That's another seat right there

Looking at the vote share numbers, we've moved into a two-party system. This is bad news for our democracy.

If people in #Ontario get out and #vote, the #election will be over before we go west for results. Don’t sit on your ass like you did in the provincial election and fuck things up again. #Canada #cdnpoli

If you've never felt like your life depended on election results then you are very privileged.

Vote.

Umm, just wanted to remind everyone that ALL COUNTRIES ARE ARTIFICIAL 🙄

"It's meant as an observation of the fact that the different regions of this country have different issues pulled together, in order to serve, mainly Ontario," says Bloc Québécois Leader Yves-François Blanchet when asked about calling Canada an "artificial country."

Lo and behold, #Toronto is discovering what has been the norm in cities around the world for decades if not centuries... The air of innovation in this piece seems ridiculous to anyone familiar with the world outside North America

This ‘walk-up’ condo multiplex features two-bedroom units — all sold separately for about $1 million each
The building, which includes four stacked homes each with their own outdoor space, is one of a dozen 'missing-middle' projects in the works by the builder.

I will vote for the party that commits to NOT CUT MY TAXES. Build better public transit and affordable housing on publicly owned land throughout the country.
Also, bring on a much more robust capital gains tax to the rich.

EPA is terminating more than two dozen protections against air and water pollution. It would overturn limits on soot from smokestacks that have been linked to respiratory problems in humans and premature deaths as well as restrictions on emissions of mercury, a neurotoxin.

IMPORTANT: The Dutch invested €595 million annually on urban biking, resulting in €19 BILLION saved in public health care costs alone. That’s how smart govts do math on investing in better mobility.

Let’s be clear — it wastes public money to NOT do it.

I'm no Liberal but @mark-carney.bsky.social speech tonight was excellent. A person of his background slamming 'free market' capitalism, saying economy is about people not money, even if it's just for the speech, was encouraging. He was charismatic, aggressive. Curious to see how he holds up #cdnpoli

If we got rid of #firstpastthepost we'd have a Liberal-NDP coalition now. The new government does not reflect how people voted. PC got less than 50% of votes but over 60% of seats.

More than half of Ontarians are dead from the neck up.
Not because conservaturds got a "majority" (although, yeah, that too), but because they were elected based on 43% turnout.

PCs form a “majority” government with 43% of the vote: Ontario voters cheated again by first-past-the-post - Fair Vote Canada
Only 43% of Ontario voters supported Doug Ford's PCs, yet the voting system has given them 64.5 % of the seats and 100% of the power.
