May or may not be an actual octopus. Definitely not an official account of OWS.
By not briefing Congress, Trump generously spared them from being complicit in his flagrant violation of international law.

But their immunity likely goes away if they simply rubber-stamp his aggression, or allow him to commit further crimes (as he almost certainly will).

Remember, international law says clearly that you can do whatever you want if the other guy is a dick.

But if Trump gets sidetracked running Venezuela, who's going to build a luxury playground for billionaires on the rubble of Gaza, or turn Greenland into the fifty-first state?
January 3, 2026 at 6:30 PM
Congress will never stand for this blatant disregard of their constitutional authority. Trump is finished now for certain …

Ha ha, whoops. Sorry, I forgot which universe I was in for a moment there.
January 3, 2026 at 3:21 PM
Past experience suggests that US plans for Venezuela are probably the equivalent of a napkin scrawl that ends with:

5. ?????
6. PROFIT!

As in Iraq, where the Bush admin's lack of a long-term plan cost hundreds of thousands of lives, they will roll the dice & hope for the best, & it won't work.

I would have said that he was the dumbest person ever to hold a high elected office in the United States, but then I remember that Tommy Tuberville exists.
I think reasonable people can quibble over Trump or Bush being the worst president (I still say it’s Bush) but I think we can all agree Donald Trump is the dumbest person to hold the American presidency.
January 3, 2026 at 3:07 PM
It is the official position of the United States that US courts have jurisdiction over any president in the world except the President of the United States.

A hush fell over the Situation Room. The world stood on the brink of nuclear annihilation. One slim chance remained, but only if they could somehow find someone who could recognize a giraffe.

President Donald J. Trump cleared his throat. "Don't worry, guys," he said calmly. "I've got this one."

Who knew there were C-list Nazis?
It's not just that JD Vance follows Nazis. He follows the really niche obscure Nazis, the ones who you've never even heard of unless you're totally immersed in their culture

If there are people who you don't want to have vote, you just arrange things so that their mail-in ballots only become available six days before the election, and then make it take seven days for mail from their area to reach the automated sorters. Done.
USPS quietly changed its postmark rules — mail is no longer dated when you drop it off. The “official” date is when it hits automated sorting — sometimes days later

Which could have major implications for mail in voting — it’s a clever way to disenfranchise voters that’s going largely overlooked

It seems that several months of bombing small boats in the Caribbean have not diminished Donald Trump's appetite for blowing up dark-skinned people, so 2026 threatens to be an ugly year.

My prediction that when the Epstein files were released they would be ineptly and very obviously redacted to try to conceal mentions of Trump appears to be confirmed.

… but as far as predictions go, this one was pretty low-hanging fruit.

On a scale of "Tuskeegee Experiment" to "Josef Mengele", exactly how fucked is this proposal?
More about RFK Jr.'s colonialist medicine.

The study team describes period before universal vaccination-at-birth in 2027 as a "unique window of opportunity".

In a sense they're right. It's a unique window of opportunity for a wealthy country to experiment on citizens of the global south.
Many people have been giving excellent updates about the $1.6 million that RFK Jr. has given to Danish researchers to “study” the HepB birth dose in Guinea-Bissau, and I’m glad this story is spreading.

The first thing that was confirmed is that the researchers are Benn and Aady, as many predicted.

My prediction is that any Epstein files released will have been redacted to minimize damage to certain people.

But the redaction will quickly be discovered, perhaps by comparing documents already public against copies in the (redacted) fileset.

Because they are just so damn bad at this.

People criticize Keir Starmer a lot, but he's done something that many political observers would have said was impossible: he's made the Conservatives look competent, and Reform look like a serious political party.

To believe that Donald Trump is not a serial sexual predator requires you to believe that double-digit numbers of women are ALL lying, and that Donald Trump is telling the truth for what might quite possibly be the first time in his life.

When the history of our time is written, the record will have to show that thousands of innocent people were systematically terrorized not as part of any coherent agenda, but because a bunch of knuckle-dragging racist dipshits wanted to cosplay being SEAL Team 6.
NEW: @propublica.org investigated the Chicago apartment raid where kids were zip-tied and citizens detained for hours. They find:

- NONE of the arrested were criminally charged
- NO evidence the building was "filled with TdA terrorists."
- ZERO legitimate reason for DHS to rappel from a Blackhawk.

I think it's very big of Donald Trump to work against releasing the Epstein files because he knows they contain information that could embarrass his good friend Bill Clinton.
November 13, 2025 at 4:11 AM
Whatever else you may say about Epstein, you can't say that he wasn't a shrewd judge of character.

There is a very definite case for cutting off Dick Cheney's head and burying him at the crossroads with a stake through his heart, the way they used to do with vampires.

The man hasn't even had a pulse for decades. There is no single better candidate for "probably undead" in the US today.
November 4, 2025 at 2:46 PM
I don't think Dick Cheney was even in my "Top Ten People I'd Like To See Die Suddenly of Natural Causes" list any more. These days he might not even have made the top twenty.

They said that during Trump's first term too. They didn't have a plan then, except a vague idea of letting insurance companies sell you worse plans for more money.

Eight years later, they still don't have a plan.

Only one thing is certain: whatever they eventually do come up with will be horrible.
Rep. Jeff Van Drew on Republicans' healthcare plan: "The plan is to come up with something better."
