This really rings hollow when "lawless space cowboy shit" is already a rich vein of Destiny storytelling, but also one severely lacking in the current version of the game. This just reads as Bungie jettisoning the 'vibe' already built in favour of the version of it that lets them have lightsabers.

Based on what I've played so far, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 feels like a real modern Oblivion successor. Only instead of helping Sheogorath unleash a storm of burning dogs, you're tracking the village idiot to his sauerkraut den because he's stolen half the cabbages.

I will say this for The Game Awards: it's an audacious excercise in branding. The discourse every year suggests that people genuinely believe it's /the/ de facto official industry award show, but like, they just called it that. It's a trick. A spell that only works if you believe.
