I’ve only ever painted one thing on canvas, and it’s this: a 3 foot tall piece that I did almost 20 yrs ago. I expanded it from a drawing I’d done in a sketchbook, and I’m still quite fond of it.

When I worked at an elementary school in the South Bronx, the kids there played chess a few times a week. The best chess players in the city, if not the country, are often from the poorest neighborhoods in New York.
My nephew’s Brooklyn middle school has chess as an elective, he is now a chess obsessive and getting very good

I love it when I watch a figure skating competition and don’t think about the camera angles or production choices even once. Wish that happened more often.
Most sports TV viewers take it for granted, yeah, and only spot the production when it’s bad.
Usually it’s so good that they don’t notice. To pick one example, in football, the crews don’t know where the ball is going, and it happens fast, but they always have live shots of wherever it ends up.

for anyone who doubts this, go read the F1 subreddit after a race. 95% of the comments are complaining about how bad the live broadcast was, and how many critical moments in the race got missed. being able to anticipate where the action will be is a fine art
