Thanks @artist-at-law.bsky.social for the question! There’s good evidence that marine heatwaves (MHWs) damage seagrass, and only very limited evidence that seagrass meadows can locally buffer temperature. @bioecoocean.bsky.social maybe you have other inputs / new research on this topic? 🌿🪸🌊

Two messages from #UNOC3 stood out for us: 1️⃣the need to strengthen ocean #observation efforts and 2️⃣the need to tackle #climate crisis, #biodiversity loss, and #ocean health as interconnected challenges. ObsSea4Clim and @bioecoocean.bsky.social work is an important contribution to tackle these needs!
