The NCAA bans 6 college hoops players in latest sports betting scandal. Allegedly, players texted about a plot to "throw the game" (not exactly code words🕵️) + told teammates to not score. Athletes in betting plots risk not only NCAA bans but the feds could take a look. More on @sportico.bsky.social:

If you have a Little Free Library that’s ignored, it’s a good time to make it a Little Free Food Pantry. A few dollars each week can stock it, and community members often donate.

I started mine in 2020 and now local churches even drop off items.

I’m seeing a lot more people coming by for food.

Great to see "worker influencers" providing more exposure for careers in the trades wapo.st/3UrwViI
Social media opens a window to traditional trades for young workers
Worker influencers are showing what life is like in fields such as construction, plumbing and manufacturing. Trade schools are trying to make the most of it.

This is Sausage. His humans got him his very own swimming pool and he's obsessed with it. We asked them if he swims every day and they said, ”Every single day. He follows us around the house until we take him outside AND sit and watch him. If we’re not there he won’t swim." 14/10 good for him

One of the most common and glaring mistakes I see in commentaries about NIL, the NCAA and sports law is the belief that the U.S. Supreme Court made NIL possible through the Alston case. It's wrong on multiple levels. My weekly @sportico.bsky.social sports law column: www.sportico.com/law/analysis...
There’s a Common Misperception About the Supreme Court and NIL
Fans, journalists & others have misstated the U.S. Supreme Court's role in NIL, a topic SCOTUS has not addressed and didn't address in NCAA v. Alston.
