So, that's me not getting the train tomorrow after all, then.

One of the best things about having such an awesome con family is being able to bring silly visions like this to like. Thanks to Shane's brilliant Emperor and Graham's willingness to crawl around getting the right angle... I give you Marvel's Star Wars/Doctor Who issue... Time Lord vs Sith Lord!

Thanks to the kind and hilarious Colin Baker and Nicola Bryant for signing my River Song diary pages for the Sixth Doctor and Peri at Megacon too!

Fantastically fun weekend catching up with everyone and meeting new friends at Megacon Dublin! It's been too long!

Happy The Christmas Invasion 20th Anniversary to all those who celebrate!

Incredible. As bad as you think Seth Rogan starring as Napoleon in a cute CG comedy version of Animal Farm sounds like, it's impressive that the trailer reveals it to be so much worse. So. Much. Worse.

Just over three months until Flux, and meeting Christopher Eccleston, Jodie Whittaker, and Ncuti Gatwa and a host of other Doctor Who stars. Here's a Three Doctors inspired photo composite I put together in Canva to celebrate.

The quest to make 2026 a hell of a lot better than 2025 starts here!

I got such a shock that Christopher Eccleston, Jodie Whittaker and Mandip Gill, and Ncuti Gatwa were all doing fan meets at @starfuryevents.bsky.social Flux that my mind temporarily left my body and I accidentally bought tickets for all three.

If you know you know, but if you know: wow! The best, cleverest, most horrifying pumpkin you've ever seen.

Kind of a... complicated week, with lots of last minute dashing up and down the country on trains and buses, and I haven't seen my own bed since Wednesday.

On the other hand, I've discovered 1st class is really very pleasant indeed.

Utterly brilliant, uplifting news: Doctor Who WILL be back, remaining "at the heart of the BBC" with a Christmas Special next year and a new series confirmed to follow.

Also quite happy with the composite I threw together, based on my previous mock DWM cover, to illustrate the Blogtor Who news item

It's always nice to recognize a reference, but sometimes it's even better to years later discover something *was* a reference.

Here's Steven Toas-- I mean, Orson Welles, not really trying to hide his disdain for his director and their assistant while doing voiceover work 'under protest!'

Quite devastating for anyone interested in the UK's cultural past, both from the point of view of internal BBC history, but also how those discussions reflected wider society at a time.
A personal opinion is that if an archive is moving to ‘structured content releases’, it is no longer an archive but a private comms repository. What an incredible loss to our understanding of UK culture and heritage.
"The BBC has clanged their doors shut on those histories, those stories, those lives and ways of working that are revealed through the joint industry of the historian and the archivist." @helenwheatley.bsky.social on the devastating decision to limit access to BBC archives. tinyurl.com/y4tnyw9a

Social media really gives narcissists new options to tell on themselves.

There's always a "Why doesn't anyone make/sell/provide Thing X!?" post followed by an "I wAsN'T aSkINg FoR aDvIcE!!" when people tell them where they can get themselves Thing X.

As always with narcissists, block and move on.

The BBC are accidentally running the subtitles to Mrs Marple over the Mercury Prize, and it’s rather wonderful. A few of lines could plausibly have been written by Jarvis.

About a month ago, the Trump administration got rid of the de minimis exemption, whereby packages valued under $800 could slide in without import duties. Now there's a backlog as the government can't process all of this paperwork, leading to UPS just destroying packages

This week I've finally been watching the 1977 Count Dracula. Spookily, by coincidence, I started watched Part 1 11pm on 4th of October... only for the warning locals in the carriage scene to declare midnight on the 4th of October the exact date when evil holds sway over the Earth...

That new Barrowman car crash interview is the usual mix of strawmen, disingenuousness, self-justification, self-pity, and narcissism I've come to expect over the last few years. Though him hoping women now feel less secure making complaints than they did a few years ago is an unpleasant new wrinkle.
