Agreed- our favorite cons are the prototype heavy ones.

Amanda and I hosted NamandaCon (Nate+Amanda=Namanda) after SDHistCon, and then ended the Con Crawl with BGGCon, with Candice and both Matts throughout. I didn't fully track but highlights were Speak Easy, Iwari, Oranges and Lemons, Times Up (thx @ericlang.bsky.social), and a couple prototypes.

Agreed, board games feel very nascent as a medium.

Agggh @candidrum.bsky.social keeps mentioning it and we really want to see it. Hopefully a broader or streaming release soon. Congrats!

Also, @danthurot.bsky.social, what do you use to make the grid of games graphic?

At a local con as well (@rollplusfun.bsky.social is being modest, he organized it!): Hab & Gut, Rebel Princess, Molly House, Dune (OG, not Imperium), Darwin's Choice, Troyes, 7 Wonders: Architects, Bites, Agent Avenue, and Dwellings of Eldervale.

Stationfall definitely. The King is Dead is another one that comes to mind.

🙌 And if @mikedilisio.bsky.social is asked to reevaluate that ranking, it might go up or it might go bust!

Thanks! My gaming group has been discussing the mask quite a bit, so was curious to hear from the designer perspective on that.

Hi Jo, good to meet you at PaxU and we've really enjoyed our plays. Question: Is the mask item intended to be very powerful such that non-informant players need to guard against?

The boardgame + @kedseconomist.com crossover I didn't know I could hope for! 🎲✂️
This is fascinating: On the pod, @kedseconomist.com cites the example of a US manufacturer of board games to explain what's wrong with Trump's tariffs and why unleashing so much pain and turmoil to restore manufacturing is an incoherent goal.

Very light week- Ready, Set, Bet; Pipeline; Cosmic Encounter Duel; and an untitled prototype. Enjoyed Pipeline and the prototype. 👍🏻

Such an interesting SCOTUS tour! Loved that Circle DC offered events beyond gaming!
Friday kicked off with tours of SCOTUS and the Folger Library, followed by a session of John Company 2ed. The end was unsuprisingly going bankrupt.
