The only justice in this world is what we demand & ensure.
'There are legal, appropriate ways for the federal and state government to ensure programs are being administered with integrity. As we have seen time and again this year, however, this administration seems to have little interest in following the law...'

warming up the flux capacitor in doc's delorean so I can go take this bribe, er, pardon list back to the gop hypocrites during the biden administration & flog them with it.

the gop 2026 slogan should be 'bribes for me, bootstraps for thee'.

Absolutely nothing to do with Canada having proportional representation & strict campaign finance limits.
It is true that US has some of the top medical specialists, & Canadians sometimes come here for certain procedures. However, the insurance available to low/middle class Americans rarely covers the travel to those specialists' clinics.

It's the curated experience that is missing these days, something that an algorithm will never be able to replicate/provide.
Without a curator, you miss out on bands, books, writers, artists that you will likely never know & may have loved.

These record highs & fewer freezes result in more parasitic insects surviving winter to attack the trees during the rest of the year.
Which will decimate the pine forests.
These ecosystems need sustained low temps in the single digits for more than a month to keep the wood-boring insects at bay.

would add pre-protest networking, in the days before the protest for those already engaged in activism & awareness, with same-day (as the protest event) networking for the newbies - have info on orgs, petitions, referendums & bills available for maintaining momentum after the protest. ✊️✌️

the world isn't waiting & they're buying renewable next-gen power infrastructure from China.

In his annual press talk, Putin made clear that he expected to prevail in Ukraine not through military force on the ground, but through influence operations carried out in the US, Europe and the UK which will install Kremlin-loyal and Kremlin-financed parties in control:
Vladimir Putin predicts European ‘swine’ backing Ukraine will lose power
Russian president vows to liberate ‘historic lands’ in hardline speech, showing no signs of compromise on invasion goals

This is the way
Be the change
Do what you can
with what have
where you're at
It’s the “season of love and giving”…but this year, doesn’t it seem more like a “season of fear and taking”? Like many of you, I’ve been saddened by the human impact of draconian government budget cuts and how angry many housed Americans are at unhoused Americans.

Spot-on analogy.

Malice, apathy & corruption are the lesser cousins of evil but still seek the same ends.
It's like on the eve of WWII we decided to stop funding R&D into weapons systems to develop advanced aircraft, ships, and tanks. Climate change is going to kick our butts if we lose NCAR (and NOAA) at a time when climate change is increasing extreme weather events capable of crashing the economy.
Exclusive: The Trump administration is moving to dismantle the National Center for Atmospheric Research in Colorado, according to a senior White House official, taking aim at one of the world's leading climate research labs.

Love this, but the unspoken stress is the deliberate & enforced artificial economic/opportunity scarcity that everyone born into, or falls into, poverty faces every day.
This is a well-deserved band-aid by lottery, but it's a gesture, not govt policy.
It obviously changed this lady's life, though.
If today feels heavy, this is for you.

Stay to the end.
It’s worth it. 🥹💖

Rob Reiner either made your favorite movie, or made somebody you know’s favorite movie. If you’re a Californian, he’s also part of the reason you or your friends can get married. He has changed more lives for the better than this asshole commenting on him ever did.

The measles virus first infects the macrophages in the alveoli, the wee airsacks in your lungs, then those 'Infected macrophages travel to lymph tissue, where the virus comes in contact with the memory cells of the immune system (memory T-cells and B-cells).'
If you wanna learn more about immune amnesia this is a good primer from the American Society for Microbiology.

Measles binds to your immune system’s memory cells and infects them, effectively erasing their database. It then produces all new memory cells - that contain info ONLY for measles.
Measles and Immune Amnesia | ASM.org
Measles is much more serious than a rash and fever: it also causes immune amnesia and leaves patients especially vulnerable to secondary infection.
