We were gifted hot chocolate balls, so I corralled other related snacks (bought some peppermint sticks) and voila! Hot chocolate bar!! My daughter’s school serves hot chocolate on reward days with various toppings, so this was HUGE hit to have at home.

They were so incredibly good. I don’t know if there’s a point where you can eat ‘too many’ cranberries, but we’re about to find out (no worries about the copious amount of sugar on them, the limit does not exist).

If my turkey doesn’t manage to cook, at least we’ll have sides. Greens, stuffing, and gravy on the stove. Mashed potatoes ready for the oven swap.

This jerk. Has been in my fridge. ‘Thawing’ for FIVE days. Solid as a rock. Happy Thanksgiving.

My grandmother used to make a sweet potato dish only at thanksgiving & eater. The recipe has been lost to time. It was a very light, fluffy soft sweet potato shaped into a ball with a marshmallow in the middle & rolled in coconut flakes. Does anyone know the name?

My mom‘s work sent out a ‘restructuring’ email. Everyone that wants to continue to work there has to go to an internal portal and reapply for

the job they’re already working. They did not share how many people they’d be ‘hiring back’. Rumor is this is to lower pay and stop pensions.

Remember when there was such a thing as a ‘slow news week’?

I worked in my college‘s student publication department all four years. My dad worked at a tv news station for 30- I very much remember the reaching and struggle for something to fill a spot/time.

I should really get started on my mashed potatoes and other preps today…..instead I’m ordering take out because I have a coupon (and I just really don’t feel like dirtying the kitchen).

This just in: you can buy ham bones (with tons of meat still on it), from honey baked ham. I got a medium sized one for $9- and it will go from soup to collards to beans this week.

The world is falling apart, and I’m sitting in bed studying for a certification for work (that’s newly required), and will cost me $250 to take. I’m about 90% sure I’ll be laid off by January. What is even the point?

Some of the wreaths we made at our crafternoon!

We had a crafternoon today. Everyone brought the bits and pieces of craft supplies that have been hanging around their house. I put the snacks everyone brought on a fancy tray and we had a party!

I just paid $194 to take my daughter to the doctor for an ear infection. We haven’t even been seen yet. I pay $300 a month for insurance already.

Just did the math- it cost $110 a day, with no frills, for my kids and I to live. Thats so fun.

I don’t think I’ve ever decorated for Christmas this early. I’m normally a strictly ‘not until December’ person. I wonder if that’s why I’m having such a hard time getting into it? Nothing looks right.

‘Too good to go’ is finally in my neighborhood!!! Got a mixed dozen bagels for $5! You’re not wrong, you’re counting 11. One is already in my belly.

It’s November 5th and there’s already a ring around the moon!! Come on early snow!

It’s -20 outside (like 40) and I’ve been sticking my head outside every 30 mins to check for the northern lights. I still missed them.
