At today’s EEA Joint Committee meeting in Brussels, 88 legal acts were added, mostly strengthening food safety, plus finance, transport, chemicals, and animal feed 🤝

Norway spoke on behalf of the EEA EFTA States and updated the EU on the EEA & Norway Grants for 2021–2028 🇪🇺🇳🇴

Patient no. 500 evacuated from 🇺🇦 to 🇳🇴. Norway has now received 504 patients via the EU Civil Protection Mechanism, among the highest in Europe. Weekly medical evacuation flights since 2022 are helping ease pressure on Ukraine’s health system. Read more👉 bit.ly/4qpgEsa

🇳🇴Norway’s PM Jonas Gahr Støre:

Threats have no place among allies. Norway's position is firm: Greenland is part of the Kingdom of Denmark. Norway fully supports the sovereignty of Denmark. There is broad agreement in NATO on the need to strengthen security in the Arctic, including in Greenland.

In Kyiv today, 🇳🇴Norway’s FM Espen Barth Eide announced an emergency support package of EUR 340 million to 🇺🇦Ukraine. Funding is aimed at supporting the energy sector & critical services during russia’s illegal attacks on civilian infrastructure.

During yesterday’s Schengen Council meeting, ministers agreed on a new framework for faster & more effective returns🛂

State secretary Joakim Øren, representing Norway in the meeting, said it will provide clearer detention rules and allow for return centres in third countries.
