So pleased we went this morning to see the Bluethroat at South Gare as it was showing really well. A bit chilly but well worth a visit. Video a little Shakey start and finish but otherwise ok. youtu.be/fjVV-w8jyms @teesbirds.bsky.social @nybirdnews.bsky.social

Peregrine flew straight over Redcar Cinema today, heavily edited as i didn't have correct settings. Also 8 Whooper Swans (4 ad 4 juv) flew east past Marske, and must be around 800-1000 Golden Plover on the coastal field. @teesbirds.bsky.social @nybirdnews.bsky.social #UKBirding #NEBirding

Nice surprise yesterday when this little gem of a bird turned up in one of our mist nets in the NNR Base Garden at Bank Island – only the second Firecrest to have been ringed on the reserve and the first record since 2021 @yorkbirding.bsky.social

Firecrest caught & rung at Bank Island this afternoon
@ldvnnr.bsky.social @nybirdnews.bsky.social
Thanks to the great team @ldvnnr.bsky.social for finding me my first YOC area and patch Firecrest. Waited a long, long time to see one. Thankfully, I got brief but much better views than I could capture with the camera😂, as it hopped around the NE base bushes. I'll try again in the morning.

A rewarding couple of hours today at Filey Brigg in spite of the strong NW wind & the odd icy shower.
Three confiding Snow Buntings on Carr Naze; a Red-necked Grebe, two Great Northern Divers & a Little Auk all on the sea, bay side.

Goldcrest, black redstart and bluethroat, all close to the Fisherman’s Huts, South Gare, Redcar after sunset. I ventured out finally after my post-Gambia blues subsided. Good to bump into @jonathanpienews.bsky.social too. 😊 @teesbirds.bsky.social @nybirdnews.bsky.social @birdguides.bsky.social

The late Bluethroat at South Gare today afternoon. It was feeding actively, but the weather over the next few days doesn’t look good for it. #NEbirding @teesbirds.bsky.social @nybirdnews.bsky.social 🪶

Thrilled to have seen the bluethroat at South Gare this afternoon. What a beautiful little bird. Amazingly fast scurrying through the scrub & grass more mouse-like than bird. Wishing it well on its travels. @teesbirds.bsky.social @nybirdnews.bsky.social

Caught up with a juvenile Red-throated Diver today that had become a little lost on its overnight commute. The perch was a little less pleased to see it.
