I remember the first time I heard Workers Song just a few years ago and it completely blew me away.

The power, the voice, the playing and the words.

Shameful that this music gets held hostage by a faceless corporation.

Absolutely delighted we're burning up the land to let machines be creative and happy for us.

Soundtracking today's long run was the Peruvian shoegaze band, Los Membrillos.

Got this from KEXP's In Our Headphones - classic first wave shoegaze sound.

Los Pajaritos (The Little Birds) a highlight - the guitars build to sound like a flock of birds.

Just a reminder to always check your scarecrows for kidnapping victims.

Mostly applies to residents of Royston Vasey.

Interesting Guardian article on the new Spotify alternatives.

I really like the idea from Cantilever to have a limited number of albums to listen to at any one time.

Slows it down and gives time for proper listening.

Took my one year old to a babies and toddler group at the library this morning.

Half way through, we 'observed' a two minute silence for Armistice Day.

It was ambitious 😬

Normally I’m suspicious of re-releases, but this new Khruangbin album is so good.

Re-recording and releasing their debut exactly 10 years on with everything they've learned in the past decade.

Really light but still with that proper groove.

@dkfm.bsky.social spinning an shogaze all-timer.

Sometimes shogaze all sounds the same but sometimes it can sound like this.

Every now and again, we just need a new Whitney album to cleanse the soul.

Out today, this sounds as good as they've ever been.

It's been about 15 years since I first watched it but I'm still not over the original Funny Games.

So is this a good song or a bad song? 🎃

Watched Fright Night for the first time last night and had it on repeat since.

Don't know if it's a guilty pleasure or a genuine banger.

Just started training for a race for the first time in a few years and started to struggle on the long run this morning.

Shortened the stride, slowed the pace and hit the emergency Blankenberge button and floated home ☁️

The BBC are accidentally running the subtitles to Mrs Marple over the Mercury Prize, and it’s rather wonderful. A few of lines could plausibly have been written by Jarvis.

RIP D'Angelo, the greatest singer since Marvin departed. Who took the grit & attitude of hip-hop & alchemized it into angelic voodoo. He condensed the human condition - sex, suffering, addiction, love, oppression - into pure transcendence. A comet emitting blinding light & soul.

White Flowers first release in 3 (?) years!

New single out today - Tear.

Lancashire's own shoegaze champions, back on a new label and with a slightly more electronic dancey sound it seems.
