We're delighted to announce that Discovery Museum has been awarded £193,000 by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.

These funds will allow us to create a new flexible space for a variety of exciting exhibitions, experiences and events.

Robert Blair, South Shields-born antiquarian, has been honoured with a blue plaque at Arbeia, South Shields Roman Fort.

Blair’s dedication helped preserve the site before development began and the plaque celebrates Blair’s legacy and lifelong commitment to our local heritage.
