New Atlantic Yards developers seek to supersize project. Total 9,000 units, not 6,430.
Taller towers (& one subtraction) allow more open space.

1.6M more square feet (value: $320M?) sought, said to make project & affordability viable.
Subsidies unclear

1.6M more square feet (value: $320M?) sought, said to make project & affordability viable. Changes could mean faster buildout. Would bulk increase be just 20%? (Nope.)

The BrooklynSpeaks Advice on Tomorrow's #AtlanticYards Meeting--and What's Missing

The coalition has worthy words on affordable housing, density, open space, & accountability.
But it shouldn't ignore the likely concessions, the trade-offs, & the bad faith.

Beyond Height & Density, Key Questions About "Pacific Park" Open Space

The Pacific Park Conservancy is an unaccountable phantom.
Is the new JV taking over Atlantic Yards even involved?
Also, shouldn't the arena operator have to pay for a permanent plaza?

Does new map, w/o 6 railyard tower sites outlined, suggest potential reconfiguration?
Would public input have much effect?

Fantastic article by @normanoder.bsky.social on what the "40% affordable unit" commitment in the EDC's BMT Vision Plan may really mean in terms of the size of these units vs. the market-rate units. Just another illustration of the shaky numbers underpinning EDC's "vision" plan.
Are Larger Market-Rate Apartments in Brooklyn Marine Terminal Plan Key to the 40% Affordability Promise?
Below-market apartments are smaller. So, they might occupy less than 40% of the square footage--at least if the city's placeholder assumption is borne out. Same for the revised Atlantic Yards?

Wouldja believe: after announcing Friday that on Oct. 24 Ticketmaster Plaza would have amplified sound from 1-4 pm, before #BrooklynNets home opener... today #BarclaysCenter says there also will be amplified sound 6-8 pm.

Incompetence, or deliberate obfuscation to neighbors?
