Signs of progress. According to a large Belgian property company energy performance ratings are a must-have for home buyers. The price gap between good and bad homes is growing and as it does ppl are likely to buy cheaper, less-efficient homes with a view to energy retrofits.

Trump, Musk and Zuckerberg have declared war on facts and truth. The pushback must start now | Emily Bell
There is a narrow window. Public media and fair reporting must be supported: the rules must be upheld In early 2017, Mark Zuckerberg was on what might be termed an “apology tour” of the United States. In the tumultuous few months since Donald Trump won…

2024 set a record as the warmest in history, with the average global temperatures 1.6°C above pre-industrial levels.

Multiple global records were broken, contributing to extreme events, including floods, heatwaves and wildfires.

The impact of human-caused climate change accelerates.

New study from IIHS shows that car bloat is dangerous even at low speeds:

If hit by a sedan going 27 mph, a pedestrian has a 60% chance of a moderate+ injury and 30% chance of a serious one.

If it's a pickup going 27 mph, those odds rise to 83% and 63%, respectively.

Vehicle height compounds dangers of speed for pedestrians
New pedestrian injury risk curves calculated by IIHS show that vehicles with taller front ends begin to cause serious injuries at lower speeds.

Inclusive transport requires an empathetic approach; recognising users' varying needs dependent on age, gender, ability and income.

Planners often neglect these groups and outcomes—particularly in relation to the 'invisible' social, health and mental well-being.
