I drive strangers. Sometimes, folks share something that stays with me. Nomad Dispatch is where I collect those moments. People talk. I listen. For a few minutes they get treated like they matter. Just the weird truths people spill when they’re heard.

Sometimes you brace yourself for the worst and end up getting the best five-minute chat of the day. This one came at the end of a long Saturday, and it reminded me why I still do this gig. A small, unexpected connection—right past the last nice house.

Picked up a woman headed to a “casino.” Things got sketchy real fast. Spoiler: there were NFTs and a handwritten sign involved. I still have questions.

This is a major major major scandal and must be treated as such

In 25 years of covering national security, I’ve never seen a story like this: Senior Trump officials discussed planning for the U.S. attack on Yemen in a Signal group--and inadvertently added the editor-in-chief of The Atlantic. www.theatlantic.com/politics/arc...
The Trump Administration Accidentally Texted Me Its War Plans
U.S. national-security leaders included me in a group chat about upcoming military strikes in Yemen. I didn’t think it could be real. Then the bombs started falling.

Musk says aid cuts haven’t killed anyone. That's not true.

The richest man in the world is shoveling campaign donations to Republicans in Congress.

No billionaire should be able to try and buy the removal of independent judges.
Musk Donates to G.O.P. Members of Congress Who Support Impeaching Judges
Amid a controversy over whether President Trump will abide by court rulings, Elon Musk gave the maximum to the campaigns of Republicans who back ousting judges who impede the administration.

Yeah, this is a perennial truth -- landmark struggles over free speech typically involve people who are saying and doing things that are *unpopular*

That's, uh, why they need the protection of the First Amendment. It's sort of the whole point.
if you find yourself reluctant to support the guy at Columbia because you find some of the politics he espoused distasteful or even abhorrent, you should know that this is exactly the reaction that they hoped for in choosing him as a target for unlawful detention based on political speech.

Dear Dems. This is a reminder that Donald Trump rescinded the ethics rules preventing gifts to executive branch employees.

Now would be a good time to propose legislation formalizing the prevention into a law

Time to do things that make him react to you.
