We didn’t feel like putting dinner on the table today, so we went to a local gastropub, Evviva, for Mediterranean-style dishes. A new favorite restaurant. Olive medley, broiled speckled trout, and grilled shrimp.

A very physical day: 5K race this morning, visit to the gym for some pool exercise, and then a naked nap on the back porch in the beautiful, warm November afternoon in New Orleans.

I woke up with the most terrible leg cramp in my left calf muscle at 3:00 last night. The muscle is still quite sore. Copilot guessed on electrolyte imbalance due to training in the humid summer heat and suggested increased Magnesium intake before bed.

Weather felt much more pleasant tonight than in a long time at 29°C and just 55% humidity. I did a 4 km walk at 7:32/km.

Last training before Saturday’s race. 2 miles with 3 x 200 m bursts at 11:30/mile speed. Now it’s time to rest my knees so they’ll be fit for fight.
