Funny thing about buying/Greenland. I've heard him float paying each Greenlander $1M, that wd be about $50B. More than entire USAID budget

Perhaps it’s time — or past time — for Minnesota law enforcement to charge these federal agents with criminal trespass, battery & kidnapping.

US military resources were used to liberate oil from captured vessels in N Atlantic and Caribbean waters. I have no idea if this was legal under int'l law. But proceeds from the sale of this oil now sit in...Qatar?? Might US Treasury have a word?

FYI:

In 1916 the U.S. signed an agreement for control of St. Thomas, St. John & St. Croix, known as the “Danish West Indies,” in exchange for $25 million & a declaration that the U.S. would “not object to the Danish Govt extending their political & economic interests to the whole of Greenland.

Wow!👇
USPS quietly changed its postmark rules — mail is no longer dated when you drop it off. The “official” date is when it hits automated sorting — sometimes days later

Which could have major implications for mail in voting — it’s a clever way to disenfranchise voters that’s going largely overlooked

BREAKING: A Russian newspaper today — “America no longer sees our country as a threat… The US leader’s philosophy is closer to the values of Russia’s president, not the politicians of the Old World… he sees Europe as a liberal stronghold that must be destroyed…”

Read that again.

We've had several days of awful news and shared tragedies. Buried under the avalanche, tho, ICE marches on (stronger than avalanche? Meaner than a windy crevasse?) Collecting traveler data from TSA so they can meet and deport is NOT ok. Violation of 1st and 4th Amendments at minimum

1/ For nearly 15 years, Repubs have expended huge efforts to get rid of the ACA.Mostly because they hated that a black man had the smarts and ability to forge a path toward solving a problem that has seemed intractable for generations.

Well, I'll receive a $30 (net) increase in Social Security in 2026. That will come in handy I'm sure. I'm 77 now, my first contribution to SS was at age 15. I suppose it was $5 or $10 per paycheck.

It's good—very good, and very important—that district courts keep issuing these 100-page rulings upholding the law. It must be incredibly dispiriting to see them overturned in a two-page, lawless, unsigned order, but please, keep them coming. They expose SCOTUS' corruption like nothing else.

This is really important. Both in the fact of IMLS reinstating grants. (Which have been *crucial* for libraries and civic life across the country. Notably in rural areas.)

And in the example that the overall stalwartness and rigor of federal district/circuit courts has made a huge difference.
IMLS announces "upon further review" that it is reinstating all federal grants to libraries. It leaves out that it's doing this because a federal court told them a few weeks ago that the Trump admin's decision to destroy libraries was not legal.
