Someone had made a Morshu TTS program, and you know I had to goof around with it myself.

Or well, I wasn't expecting it to happen, anyways.

Out of all possible occurrences that I could've experienced today, Minecraft Java Edition having a complete crap fart was not one of them.

Happy New Year ๐Ÿฅณ

2025 may have left a bad taste in my mouth considering the events that took place, but that doesn't mean there isn't any visible light on the horizon come 2026. It may not be a particularly great year coming up, but I hope that it will be emphatically a better year nonetheless.

Happy New Year.

Between the rising political climate, on top of the rampant uprising of AI slop tech, 2025 not only left a metric ton to be desired, but I would argue it had very little if anything to desire in the first place.

Now that 2025: Year of the serpent (Or should I say, year of the serpent people) is beginning to conclude in the USA, I feel it's time for me to give my closing thoughts for this year.

This year ABSOLUTELY BLEW CHUNKS. There, I said it.

Merry Christmas everybody

On another note, I might be sick rn. ๐Ÿ˜

So I was drinking tea and ended up choking and spitting the tea all over the floor.

What an experience. ๐Ÿ™ƒ

Haven't heard of winboat until this moment, I suppose I'll look into that at some point...

Additionally, there's QEMU which could work, had I managed to figure out how to traverse the treacherous ruins of setting up a virtual machine with an exclusively command line interface, instead of a fairly straightforward graphical interface like what VirtualBox and VMWare have.
December 12, 2025 at 8:23 AM
For instance, VirtualBox will NOT run on certain Linux distributions without recompiling the kernel to remove KVM or smth IDK (Something that NO casual end user should ever have to do to get an app working).
December 12, 2025 at 8:21 AM
Sure (?), but the problem is when it comes to apps that DON'T work well or at all with Wine without additional extensive head bashing (e.g. paint(.)net), you pretty much have no choice but to run it in a Windows virtual machine, and not even that is guaranteed to be doable.

The Internet Archive went down again. ๐Ÿ™ƒ

Bob Pony already made a prior post addressing this.

And trust me, from my experience, this post isn't even remotely exhaustive, there's plenty more reasons why you should not tell random people without knowledge of their technical know how to just 'use Linux'.

Anyways, regarding the issues I was facing with my computer after powering on, the problem was indeed the CMOS battery. After replacing it with one of the fresh CMOS batteries my dad had on hand, my computer behaved normally ever since.

My final takeaways on this situation are as follows,

1: If you want to authenticate any of your software, do so on the client side, and ONLY on the client side.

2: Thank whatever's above that FULU Foundation exists to combat this ever increasingly widespread problem.
December 12, 2025 at 2:55 AM
This, ladies and gentlemen, perfectly demonstrates why you should NEVER EVER do server side product authentication.

Doing so pretty much puts the fate of your ownership of a product at the mercy of the manufacturer who could in fact terminate it at any time for any reason they feel like.
December 12, 2025 at 2:51 AM
Currently conducting an experiment on my PC to try and figure out what's causing this to happen.

My current test involves removing the CMOS battery, and without it, this screen now shows up without fail after the power supply is turned off for a certain period of time.
Ah, tech issues, the perfect way to start my day. ๐Ÿซ
