Watching companies that gutted loyal teams now brag about “exciting new roles” feels surreal.

I just wrote a LinkedIn post on the coming wave of toxic, distrust-filled workplaces – and why building a 20-year career at a layoff-happy firm makes no sense. www.linkedin.com/posts/davidd...
Look at firms that are posting job openings nowadays. Remember when “our people are our greatest asset” actually meant something, and wasn’t just the slide before “cost optimization” in the earnings…...

A beloved audio brand just launched its first video bar – and that says a lot about how easy it has become to “enter” the video market. Platforms + ODMs + MDEP are quietly reshaping who counts as a video manufacturer.

The New Anatomy of Room Videoconferencing
News broke this week (prior to ISE) that a long-respected premium audio firm – one that has spent decades at the very top of the microphone and sound-processing world – has entered the video conferenc...

I used to be a big fan of the Dilbert comic strip. When I found out the author was a racist & idiot I stopped following it. I hear he died yesterday. RIP, but he died in my eyes many years ago.

When something/someone I admire turns out to be an idiot, I have the critical thinking to change my mind.

United sends their elite passengers at Newark to a bag check shortcut that they don’t open, and they have one person doing a line of about 200 people. Way to go #United!

New TalkingPointz Test Bench video is up, focused on Center of Table cameras..

I unbox the AudioCodes RXVcam360 and show its features, alongside a new white paper that explores the history and evolution of #COT cameras. This category isn’t as new as people think. www.linkedin.com/posts/davidd...

The U.S. DOT wants us to “dress up” for flights again, as if a necktie is going to fix air travel’s… everything.
So I wrote a sarcastic reminder of what the real golden age looked like.
If you’ve ever rolled your eyes at modern flying, enjoy this trip back in time. danto.info/Golden_Age-J...

Amazon just sent Perplexity AI a cease-and-desist for scraping data. The company that built an empire on automation now fears being disrupted by it. The elephants are fighting in the schoolyard–and stomping on jobs, stores, and the future of humanity along the way.

When the Disruptor Gets Disrupted
It begins, as many Silicon Valley stories do, with a letter – not a love letter, not even a breakup letter – but a cease-and-desist. On Halloween, Amazon sent a sharply worded notice to the artificial...

We all wanted the beautiful future that Star Trek promised us, but instead of that, the stupid people who voted against their own best interests have brought us Star Wars and its evil empire.

We always knew the emperor's nature was evil. It's those who voted for him that we will never forgive.

Still holding meetings in mountains and canyons? Twenty years on, creative conference-room names keep confusing people. If your guests need a Sherpa to find “Paris,” your office design isn’t clever, it’s broken. Read about it in my latest LinkedIn blog.

End Meetings In The Grand Canyon!
“Your guests are waiting for you in Brooklyn Bridge.” There’s no corner of business or life where that sentence makes sense – except, apparently, in enterprise communications.

When Did “Smart” Start Meaning “Held Hostage”?

Remember when you could just own things? You’d buy something and it'd keep working until worn out. Now it's a software update away from a brick.

We used to call it ransomware with hackers. Now we call it “the cloud.”

The Rise of Corporate Ransomware
It starts innocently enough: a software update. Your Sonos speakers, once the reliable soundtrack of your home, download a patch overnight and suddenly they’re silent.

Nowadays the major collaboration platforms seem to be shouting far more about Agentic AI than engaging in efforts to simply make calls work well. It's long past time to fix this, by regulation if necessary.

The AV story is shifting - and Q-SYS is leading the charge.

At their latest Activate event, Q-SYS didn’t just drop a few new gadgets. They showed how every announcement tightens the focus on what “full-stack” really means.

Once upon a time a Fortune50 firm appointed an #AI #Agent as #CEO. The #CFO’s math: Why replace $50K workers when we can replace $10M+ ones the same way? The new boss’s ultra-original playbook: Work smarter, not harder.
