So, I am finishing up picking books for the #prideopoly25 readathon, hosted by @becklovesbooks.bsky.social

I do need help with one more pick - poetry by a trans author. If anyone has any recommendations (that is hopefully available at my library) please let me know!

Just finished up A Good Girl's Guide to Murder. Entertaining, but I had clocked the final twist pretty early so I wasn't that surprised. Still, it was enjoyable

Lots of different ways - recommendations from friends, social media (here, YouTube, etc.) or just random finds in bookstores that look interesting.

Just started this one today: Everyone on This Train is a Suspect by Benjamin Stevenson. I was a fan of the first book in the series when I read it last year, so I'm hoping for the same thing here.

This is gonna cover prompt 24 - Title is a Spoiler, for #the52bookclub reading challenge.

Also...how do you read (or do anything at all) when this is in front of you?

I realized earlier that I've never shared the biggest thing that motivates me to read - reading challenges!! I love taking part in them. Currently doing two year-long challenges that I am enjoying. Here is my progress on each so far.

Aaand next read (because I have been on a book reading binge lately) - Somewhere Beyond the Sea by TJ Klune. I'm a massive fan of the whimsy in most of his work, so I'm pretty sure I'm gonna love this one too.

Aaand finished. Good book well written. And OMG I wanted to throw this book across the room sometimes. Not because of anything the author did, but because of the treatment of the Osage. It wasn't surprising (racism is woven into the fabric of this country) but it was infuriating.

Next read on my list is Killer of the Flower Moon. I've never been much of a non-fiction reader, but I read The Wager and was surprised how much I enjoyed it. Maybe I need to read more non fiction by David Grann. Any recommendations?

Character driven - always. You can have the most interesting, intricate plot ever but if I'm not invested in the characters and their arc, I'm out.

I've only done audiobooks with one or two narrators so far and I've enjoyed them very much. I should probably try and ensemble one of these days...

You're Never Weird on the Internet by Felicia Day

I was expecting funny. I was expecting quirky. I want expecting thoughtful and inspiring. This was a wonderful read.

If you haven't read this book already, this is your time. I picked this up on a whim, knowing nothing about it or the author...and it was such a wonderful read!

Finished off the South Sound Book Crawl today, and it was an awesome way to spend the weekend! If anyone is local to the area and enjoys reading, it's a great way to find local bookstore.

Grabbed a bunch of new books to read (eventually) that I'm really excited for!

Oh, definitely the gift card! I am far too picky about my books (both their physical condition and the content).
