So basically Twitter is telling artists that it hates them. Btw., the same function also works for photos, so cosplayers, models, etc., aren't safe either.

For further context twitter added a button that allows users to generate ai images using existing art posts from artists. It removes glaze and it basically reskins the artwork by using the existing work as a base. Twitter is no longer a safe space for art

The thing thats so insidious about using AI this way is that one of the main ways artists get hired are studios looking for art references and they find us and reach out.

This is removing a major avenue to get work if they can just generate nameless derivations of our ideas.
Swen Vincke @LarAtLarian Holy fuck guys we’re not "pushing hard" for or replacing concept artists with AI. We have a team of 72 artists of which 23 are concept artists and we are hiring more. The art they create is original and I’m very proud of what they do. I was asked explicitly about concept art and our use of Gen AI. I answered that we use it to explore things. I didn’t say we use it to develop concept art. The artists do that. And they are indeed world class artists. We use AI tools to explore references, just like we use google and art books. At the very early ideation stages we use it as a rough outline for composition which we replace with original concept art. There is no comparison. #KirbyAirRiders Pizza Swerve Star! It is based on a more simple one I'd seen — but forgot to save the code for. Referenced other pizza machines, that I will attach.
Unlisted my Free Star. :(
Kirby Air Riders screencap of a custom machine. It is a Swerve Star, which is a pyramid with the base upside, sliced vertically into 6 roughly even pieces, and has 4 smaller pyramids next to it. This one looks like a pizza: it looks mainly like bread, beige with cloudy burnt stains, and only the main pyramid base looks like it has tomato and cheese spread, with some green and black vaguely circular shapes sprinkled on top, mimicking onion and olives. The pizza Swerve Star, but the 6 main pieces are separated. A Wing Star, a thin triangular shape with wings. This one looks like a pizza slice. It has a cracked texture, has mainly has a gooey cheese like mix of yellow and orange, a golden color at the base of the triangle, and deep red between the base and goo, and also at the tips of the wings. Some red disks and green circles sprinkled all over, mimicking pepperoni and onion. It also glows orange below the machine, and emits orange star-like particles. A Warp Star, a machine that looks like a cute star, with propellers stuck on 2 of the arms. This one look like a pizza, mainly cracked beige with cloudy burn like stains, a red star spread on top. Over it, some white disks mimicking mozzarella, green leaf shapes, some black circles mimicking olives, and rafflesia the size of rasperry. 2 tomatoes and a wrench are attached on the sides of the machine. It glows orange under.
