@kostermann.bsky.social presented our joint work on how pioneer gentrifier follow artists and raise the gentrification probability in poor neighborhoods. Getting closer to understanding sorting patterns creates the possibility for prediction and intervention in spatial inequality.

Great time at the Spatial and Urban PhD workshop at CREST as well as the CEPR Symposium in Paris 🇫🇷📍

At the workshop, I presented my single authored paper on how changes in the labor market affect spatial inequality through within city skill sorting.

Thanks to all presenters and discussions! 🙏🏼

Hello from Paris! 🇫🇷 Amazing @ninaglaeser.bsky.social gave with her JMP on skill sorting and #gentrifcation one of the first presentations at the urban and spatial PhD workshop at #CREST today. She investigates why high, medium and low qualified workers reside in different parts of a city 🌆🌃

Last day of the @bsoeberlin.bsky.social course in Quantitative Spatial Economics. What a great cohort! If you spot any of these faces on the job market, don't hesitate! Thoroughly impressed by their coursework—the nerdy discussions during the lectures: priceless! 🫰 sites.google.com/view/bqse/bq... f

Such an honor to work in a profession with so many incredible women 🥺🩷

I had the pleasure to present our latest work on spousal sorting and spatial misallocation. Thank you to the organizers and DIW Berlin for the great workshop - and the participants and discussants for the valuable input!

👐 I’m excited to start my research semester @ HU Berlin (@bsoeberlin.bsky.social) at the chair of @ahlfeldt.bsky.social

I will be working on my single paper during this time, focusing on gentrification and labor market outcomes. Let me know if you’re in town and want to discuss some research!

Solange Frauen in dieser Gesellschaft mehr unbezahlte Arbeit leisten müssen als Männer, müssen wir keine Sekunde über eine Wehrpflicht für Frauen nachdenken.

Bitteschön, Debatte beendet.

Such a great workshop last week at IAB on topics on (un-)employment! I can highly encourage all PhD-students to not only take part in workshops and conferences but also be in organizing committees yourself! Very valuable insights and a lot of fun 🎓🎤🪃
