Just sat on a balcony on the river Dee in Llangollen, Wales with a beer and listening to the church bells. Bliss.

University chemistry departments & course closures in the UK is leading to the emergence of ‘cold spots’ - areas where the subject cannot be studied within a reasonable travel time - says @rsc.org. Students from lower SE backgrounds could be affected the most: www.chemistryworld.com/news/chemist...

What I've noticed about AI generated essays and literature reviews that I've marked is that they don't have any figures.

If students read the papers they are more likely to include them, but ChatGPT essays don't create any.

Going to have a much needed week off work. Feeling completely burnt out.

This year has been relentless with no real break since September due to constant admin from senior management.

It's only been live for a few weeks, but it's already the most read feature of the year – and the one I had least to do with! So props to Jen and Rebecca for this look at the team who came up with signs for long + complex chemical terms

Something that has been on my mind for the last few weeks:

Is there such a thing as a digital chemistry syllabus that could go into an UG degree?

If not, should there be and what would it look like?
