“The house was always going to fall, we just finally called it.”
I dissected The Fall of the House of Usher by @mikeflanaganfilm.com through a Marxist lens. Gothic horror meets class struggle and each heir is buried by the very system they upheld.

Iran’s water crisis isn’t just climate.
Decades of oil extraction, bad management and sanctions pushed things to the edge.
Governments use “climate” as a cover for deeper political and economic choices.

Sarah Hurwitz, Michelle Obama’s ex speechwriter, said Jewish schools should ban smartphones so kids don’t see #Gaza. She says she’s “talking through a wall of dead children.”
How about focusing on stopping violence against Palestinians instead of banning phones?

You would not be surprised if you knew how fragile Serbia’s politics are. Vučić rose through controlled media, fractured opposition, and the unresolved ghosts of the 90s; accusations like this don’t come out of thin air.

From a dramaturg’s perspective:
Everyday life has its own dramaturgy, and we slip into our roles without even noticing. Brecht’s alienation effect is exactly that small cut in the surface of habit: a political interruption that makes the familiar strange again so we can actually think about it.

From what I’ve read about Pluribus, it kind of seems like there’s some Sartrean bad faith in there, but I’m probably wrong; it’s probably not that deep lol

There’s a common sense that exhaustion is a personal failure, as if fatigue reveals something lacking in the individual. This belief is shaped by a culture that turns productivity into morality and teaches people to interpret structural pressure as private weakness.

Internalized capitalism makes people think, ‘Why should I care if someone on the other side of the world loses their SNAP benefits? It doesn’t affect me.’ But that’s not how it works. Everything is connected, and their struggle is part of a bigger system that affects us all.

When I hurt someone’s feelings, it bothers me more than when someone hurts mine. It’ll probably come off as virtue signaling, but that’s just how my mind works lol
Of course, that doesn’t mean I don’t protect my boundaries.

A system that calls feeding the poor an ‘irreparable harm’ fears losing money more than people losing meals. It’s not broken actually. It’s working exactly as designed. ‘Food stamp socialism’ is just capitalism managing its own hunger.
UPDATE: Justice Jackson temporarily blocks SNAP benefits order to allow appeals court to rule.

DOJ asked SCOTUS for a stay as USDA was in the middle of completing its process for making full payments. Jackson's order came a little past 9 p.m.

The October Revolution turns 108 today. Still the most decisive reminder that history moves when the working class does.

I’ve postponed starting #WelcometoDerry because some of the scenes I saw online really depressed me. I’m obviously not mentally ready for it yet.

The UAE armed the RSF terrorist militia, brought Colombian mercenaries, and blocked humanitarian aid to Al Fashir by supplying Chinese air defense systems. It funded and facilitated genocide in Sudan before the eyes of the world. #BoycottUAE #StandWithSudan

In a 1941 Soviet short film titled A Prophetic Dream (part of Fighting Film Collection No. 1), Hitler dreams that the ghosts of past invaders who tried and failed to conquer Russia, including Napoleon, appear in his tent to warn him of his fate. 😀
