Given the pieces of shit who often pull these levers, it makes it more blatant this isn't about protecting kids but about collectiing data and surveillance.

Putting actual pedophiles behind bars.
Certainly would work better than mandatory ID verification on chat apps, but comes with the downside that it yields less data to sell.
