She Who Writes
I wrote not too long ago about the scapegoating playbook that Dutton & other politicians adhere to. It’s too easy. Cruel and divisive, & it emboldens others. It’s disgraceful what happened today during the Welcome to Country at Melb’s Dawn Service. Australia, we are better than this #anzacday

@nikkigemmell.bsky.social’s recent novel, Wing, explores the fault lines of female friendship, gender, power, and what it means to be a woman today. She will speak with @janecaro.bsky.social at #NWF2025

The Scapegoating Playbook, strategy of cruelty from the insecure alpha. I’ve seen it play out in friend groups, families (Prince Harry,) workplaces & of course, in our political realm. Picking on the scapegoated Othered, for the sake of a group’s cohesion. Too easy, incredibly damaging. Latest column

Brilliant! But it's not a "new world order" - it's the same old one that's been grumbling along under the woodwork this whole time.

Why thank you, ma’am
Going home with plans to keep reading a book you’re enjoying is one of the great feelings. I picked up Wing by @nikkigemmell.bsky.social and I can recommend it if you like your mystery layered with social commentary and a side order of poetry.
