Blimey Diane. When I was pregnant, I barely got up to change the channel.

I remember being taught about good Germans and bad Germans, the brave few who resisted the rise of fascism in the 1930s and the masses who enabled it. Now I wonder if there weren’t a huge contingent desperate to stop it but without any sense of how to do that.

Maybe we should honor the women who were real astronauts.

From left to right are Shannon W. Lucid, Margaret Rhea Seddon, Kathryn D. Sullivan, Judith A. Resnik, Anna L. Fisher, and Sally K. Ride. NASA selected all six women as their first female astronaut candidates in January 1978.

Excellent column, which vividly describes the conditions of communist Czecheslovakia compared to how it was under Václav Havel's presidency. His essays seem to have been both an inspiration and a guide in how to restore democracy under tyrants.
🔴Hot Type: Being Braver Than We Want to Be

American columnist Heidi Siegmund Cuda turns to Václav Havel’s dissident essays from 1978, 'The Power of the Powerless', to learn how people can find a collective way back from democratic ruin

Pretty disturbed by some of the Kremlin framing on the Trump talks being bought by parts of the media worldwide. It’s as if the genesis of the war is entirely forgotten. This isn’t a conflict which needs mediation. It was an unprovoked act of aggression. It could end tomorrow if Putin just withdrew.

I've had a wonderful time with the Year 5 kids at Summerhill Primary this week. We've spent four days creating artwork as the culmination of their 'space' topic, and what imaginations they have. 👍🤩

It’s been a challenging week. So I recommend listening to the wonderful Rest is History podcast on Wojcek the Polish army bear who fought in the Battle of Monte Cassino, drank beer and stole underwear. And then moved to Scotland, where I took this photo.

Had the privilege of a trip in a 1928 Bentley at the Fowey Classic Car Show today. Hoping I can link this to something in the primary curriculum! #eduprimary

Bridget Phillipson doing one of the best Results Day chats on Radio 2 Vine Show right now I’ve ever heard an Ed Sec do.

Even clearly answers about her own A Levels, but points out the influences of luck and that not everyone has same experiences or wants to follow same path.
