BC continues to advocate for more flexibility regarding the strict timelines that Jordan delays have on victims of serious crimes. These delays of justice means often a complete denial of justice, as cases never making it to trial because the time simply runs out. We know that victims deserve better

✅ Learn about their rights under the Mental Health Act
✅ Access legal support to challenge detention or treatment

After being given an order from our CRT and instead of doing the right thing, X refused to fully remove a non-consensual intimate image of a BC resident from its platform. Blocking access to the image only within Canada is not enough. These harmful images shouldn’t be available anywhere.

Extortion threats in our communities are completely unacceptable. Today, BC brought all levels of government together with police services to coordinate & collaborate on more actions, increase victim supports, & align resources. No one deserves to live in fear, & we won’t stop until people are safe.

Today is the start of the #16DaysofActivism Against #GenderBasedViolence. I’ve proposed more reforms to the fed govt, such as creating a presumption of first-degree murder in certain intimate partner violence cases. This is a key ask from advocates ensuring survivors receive the justice they deserve
