Gave my portfolio site an overdue coat of paint in anticipation of the (sadly postponed) Next Stage immersive summit, and I printed some cute new cards with space for me to personalize:
I keep a little list of reasons there aren't many alternate reality games anymore, and I've just added "2025 comments section refuses to play along with Kevin James' in-character TikTok account."

99 years ago today, Mary Poppins made her first appearance in a newspaper short story.

I found it a few years back, after searching for more than a decade, and have presented it for comparison at MaryPoppinsAndTheMatchMan.com.

After a rough week, the universe knew I needed nothing more than a teaser trailer for a new Gore Verbinski movie (!) starring Sam Rockwell (!) featuring a scene set in a NORMS (!) Restaurant.

I know this is a self-serving interpretation, but I feel like the meteoric popularity of Art the Clown at Horror Nights this year is a sign that we need to make more silent movies.

Unexpectedly ended up at Bob Gurr's house on his birthday, and all he wants is for everyone to follow him on Instagram — which, I'll admit, was a surprise to me.

Make a 94-year-old dude happy:

In our increasingly digital hellscape, these letterpress prints of Starcruiser fan-favorite phrases have warmed my jaded heart.

I'm fully ready for an age of analog fanart.

The funniest possible punctuation mark after struggling with Tron Ares was learning that it would have been observably different if not for me.

Story time.

In 2010, makeup artist Rosalina Da Silva posted a blog about her work on Tron Legacy ...

I was fortunate to visit Drew Struzan's home studio once. He and his wife were incredibly kind.

Rest in peace, legend.

A few pictures from that unbelievable day:

No clearer sign of the times than the fact that Tron & Nine Inch Nails made a movie together and it did not have an ARG attached.

Tell me that ten years ago, and I wouldn't have believed there wasn't a campaign called "Flynn Zero" or something.

In a world where "fandom" is quickly meaning self-aggrandized consumerism and the company itself is pushing it out; it's great to be part of a community of people that are passionate, heartfelt, honest, and creative.

Pure devotion to places we love.

Thrilled by the niche self-exploration of @hastin.net dropping facts at #RetroMagic about Earl Kaltenbach Jr. and Bradford Place, the California development he moved into entirely unaware of its place in the bygone legacy of Disneyland's Tomorrowland & Walt Disney World's Lake Buena Vista Townhomes.

My favorite pieces at the Academy Museum Jaws exhibit were a slice of wood from the log cabin Steven Spielberg stayed in during production, the original screen that printed the crew shirts, an ad for a Jaws sandwich, and a photo of Elliot Gould looking lustfully at editor Verna Fields at the Oscars.

Picked up @dalicearrow.bsky.social's TRAMPS OF THE APOCALYPSE #3 yesterday — the circle is now complete!

Wild, hilarious, action-packed.

The trade paperback compilation will be released by @darkhorse.com in January, but I highly recommend seeking out the floppies now from your local comic shop.

The final Founder's Day each season of Ghost Town Alive at Knott's always has a delightfully chaotic energy.

Today, one actor's "last show" gag adapted Quint's introductory monologue from Jaws during a key story moment, with every shark mention skillfully swapped with gold mining lingo.

Sublime.

Gorgeous. No notes.
My family has a thing where we make each other increasingly over-the-top themed birthday cakes, and my mom and sister really pulled out the stops this year.

Charles Soule's Kylo Ren comic "Legacy of Vader" is absolutely brilliant and expansive interstitial storytelling.

I would love to write a Rey series called "Legacy of Sidious" as a companion piece. There are still many shadows to be mined.
Kylo Ren is confronted by the Force ghosts of Anakin and Luke Skywalker on the variant cover of LEGACY OF VADER #10

The Last Fifteen Minutes is a marionette opera and short film about neighbors choosing to have dinner together fifteen minutes before a giant kaiju eats them.

This is a project I'm so excited to make happen, and I hope you will be part of on this journey!
