You may have heard me say "One County" and wondered what that means.

It's more than a slogan. It's a timeless truth from our past. And it's how we build a future that's far more affordable, inclusive and modern.

Let me explain.

Hope you and your family had a joyful Thanksgiving. Sending warm wishes from our family to yours! 🦃

Small Business Saturday reminds me why Baltimore County communities feel like home.

I recorded a short Thanksgiving message because this time of year always makes me think about the people who hold our county together — the neighbors who look out for one another and the families pop doing their best through a tough season.

🍂 Great afternoon in Owings Mills!

I walked away from last week’s Towson Communities Alliance meeting inspired. That may sound odd when some topics we covered were challenging – the recent incident at Towson Town Center, the need for improved public safety and coordination, concerns about whether we are doing enough, fast enough.

What a great way to end the weekend — I wrapped up a recent Sunday in Towson at a meet and greet hosted by @petarichkus.bsky.social with her friends and neighbors.

From my op-ed in The @baltimoresun.bsky.social:

"I'm running for county executive because we need a fresh start — and this is our moment. I’ve never been more hopeful than I am right now about our county."

It's time for true universal pre-k in Baltimore County!

We're closing this final day of American Education Week by talking about our most important goal—universal pre-k.

🎓 ENDORSEMENT ALERT! ✏️

Dr. Dean Scott is the kind of educator and community leader whose impact spans generations.

Towson deserves to feel safe. Yet another violent incident at Towson Town Center has left families wondering: why can’t we do better?

Our campaign position is clear: everything starts with public safety. We can choose better.

Today, on Transgender Day Of Remembrance, we honor the lives stolen by violence — and confront the reality that too many of our trans neighbors still live with fear that should never be theirs to carry.

In a time such as this, we need believers and builders.
This was yesterday's message from Pastor Isaiah Redd, Sr.
of Emmarts United Methodist Church.

Because, Sunday, we celebrated Emmarts' 220th anniversary and homecoming.

That kind of courage doesn't just disappear.

See you on the doors this weekend! 🚪✨

Every conversation we have on a doorstep brings this campaign closer to the kind of Baltimore County we all deserve — one that’s more affordable, more inclusive, and led by a local government that listens and responds.

Just wrapped an interview with WBFF FOX 45’s Jessica Babb on safety at Towson Town Center and what Baltimore County must do to protect residents and shoppers, and ensure the mall is a place our community truly feels safe.

🧑🏼‍🎓 ENDORSEMENT SPOTLIGHT✨

Moalie Jose is the kind of leader who brings both expertise and heart to public service.
November 19, 2025 at 6:16 PM
As Don Mohler said tonight, this was a moment.

Life only gives us so many of them. A moment to turn a page, to ask for more from the County we love, to step out and stand up.

Makeda Scott is a trailblazer — the first African American woman to chair the Baltimore County Board of Education, and a leader who guided our school system through some of its most challenging moments with strength, compassion, and an unwavering focus on students.

Marisol Johnson never backs down –– she's a history maker, as the first Latino public official in county history, and a way maker, working day and night to lift up her community.

This is American Education Week, and I’ll be honest — it means a lot to me. Our schools are where teachers pour out their energy, where kids discover their potential, and where families find hope and opportunity.

Affordability.

I've been thinking about that word a lot.

I've been thinking about it since 2021, when I formed my advocacy group to fight for housing and revitalization. That's because housing is the biggest reason why life feels so hard. But it's moments like this weekend that bring it home.

Did you catch the good news from SCOTUS last week? The Court refused to take up a challenge to Obergefell, meaning marriage equality stands strong. 🏳️‍🌈⚖️🥂
November 17, 2025 at 8:06 PM
That feeling when you know you’ve left it all on the field.

I started the morning in Essex with Anne George and a group of neighbors who refuse to submit. They continue “No Kings” each and every weekend, because that’s what love of country means.
November 16, 2025 at 2:36 AM
Affordability starts with housing.

Housing is the biggest cost for any family. And unfortunately, it’s never been more expensive to buy a home, based on income — in Baltimore County.

The crisis is real. But there’s real hope.
