Young people's use of social media is a highly complex issue of course, there are genuine problems with mental health, but also a whole range of benefits. Blanket bans such as this are unhelpfully reductive.

Not sure about this. Interesting to see how quickly personalised recommendations kick in again. Will the algorithm be able to still examine past content posted by users in order to learn? If so, likely that recommendations could become personalised again very quickly.

Been a long time since I set up a new social media account. I'd forgotten how liberating & exciting it is to be in that moment before the algorithm has learned enough to shape your experience. Feels like the old days of the Internet when every moment was one of discovery and anything seemed possible
