This is absolutely insane
Note: some comparisons floating around say ICE would have 3 times the Marines Corps budget. Because that compares one year of Marine Corps budget to 51 months of new DHS funding, I don't think it's accurate.
Averaging it out, ICE's annual budget goes from 18% of the Marines Corps budget to 50%.

Sad but excepted. I’m still pretty upset that Lily-Rose Depp’s performance was completely overlooked for best actress. For me it was one of the best performances of 2024.

Hard to tell if this trend is long lasting. But Flow gives me confidence that international animated films have a real shot to get a lot of recognition for awards like this. Far too many times it’s felt like international animation has been ignored by Oscar voters which is a real shame.

America has been preaching about Democratic values for over 200 years and now all of a sudden they don’t matter because supporting other countries with those values cost less less than 10% of a 1 trillion dollar defense budget.

Pretty sure that the only countries that still had trust in the United States are in Europe and Canada and even that trust is waning. Many in the global for a variety of reasons haven’t put much faith in the U.S. for a long time.
Dear the rest of the world: You should absolutely not see the US as reliable for anything at this point, shit, none of us on the inside think we're reliable for anything right now either, you're definitely not alone
