Pte Billy Kedian was posthumously awared the Distingusihed Service Medal (with Honours) this morning, the first enlisted person to receive the award. In 1999, Pte Kedian was killed by Israeli mortar fire after running around the camp to get his comdrades to safety.

NEW: Looters are dressing as firefighters to move in & out of abandoned homes in LA.
LAPD told a community meeting in Palisades last night that 20 looters had been arrested, two of whom were posing as firefighters.

I had the pleasure to photograph and watch Gearóid Ó Cairealláin act in many plays over the years. He simply dedicated his entire life to his love of the Irish Language and he has left a wonderful legacy of art and educational institutions behind him. My deepest condolences to his family
