#BlueWave in Newtown, CT. Democrats swept every race, ousting the incumbent Republican First Selectman and even the long-time Republican Town Clerk.
Turnout was nearly 50 percent vs. 40 percent in 2023.

The Newtown council voted NOT to send the idea of an ordinance to committee, which effectively killed the attempt to regulate protest rallies! HOORAY for the First Amendment!!! The vote in the end was (I think) 9-2 with one abstention. Thanks to all who showed up and stood up!
A crowd of well over 100 turned out tonight in Newtown for a legislative council meeting, and people are still speaking in opposition to a proposed ordinance that would regulate rallies and demonstrations.
