Meal Train for Ky
My dear friend, Ky, and her partner Ke, are working 4 jobs between them. K is a chronically and mentally ill person who needs to be Covid Cautious. Since SNAP benefits were cut in their state and they were no longer eligible--unless they worked more and would then lose their state medicaid--they have been food insecure. Food restrictions have made this especially hard. Without transportation to get to the food shelves in her city, and their limited hours, they have had to spend on groceries and put rent on credit cards. Food pantries serving hot meals are all indoors (not Covid safe) and with allergies, are impossible to use. I, and another close friend, are organizing this meal train to help them with food so they can catch up on rent. Please help us provide gift cards for groceries at the stores near them: Cub Foods and Target. Donations will be used to purchase gift cards. Photo ID: close up of Ky's original artwork, with lines quoted from Octavia Butler's Parable of the Sower, that read: ALL THAT YOU TOUCH YOU CHANGE ALL THAT YOU CHANGE CHANGES YOU THE ONLY LASTING TRUTH IS CHANGE Text is white on black made with label maker, with photo of clouds in background

New to Bluesky?

If you want to understand the far right, violent extremists, White Supremacists, and Christian nationalists, these are the journalists, researchers, academics, and other experts that monitor, research, and provide analysis on all the flavors of the far right and extremist movements.

Apparently we’ve all over here now. I need to update my stuff. I haven’t touched this account for a year.

Well, hi everyone! Let’s get to resisting again (my god I’m already tired)… time for a cup of coffee!

I need to post more over here.

Tell me what you’d most like to see me talk about.

Options: Disability, Autism, parenting, complaining about capitalism, Covid safety, sci-fi shows and TV, aspiring writer thoughts or my personal life.

I’ve received many heartbreaking emails after my hospital masking story from people whose loved ones contracted covid at a hospital with dangerous consequences. What do you even say or do in response?

“I’m tired and my head hurts.”
- This post has been brought to you by my undefined disability that does this to me for no apparent* reason.

*This is untrue. Last week I ate gluten to purposefully create a flare for a medical test to hopefully define what’s undefined. Flare occurred. I’m miserable.

I know this is silly, but I’m proud of my brand new little neighborhood for 10 followers. Welcome to my tiny digital BlueSky living room 🥳.

If you’re new to the Disability community and you want your pain to be heard, share your story. Many of us want to listen! I do!

But please, please don’t push this narrative that your disability is the worst disability to ever happen. You have no idea the intense pain others have gone through.

One thing we shouldn’t do in the Disability community is compare disabilities like “I am more Disabled than thou.”

I’ve been various levels of Disabled, many folks have. All Disabilities can suck by the very nature of NOT being able to do stuff. All Disabled people should be protected & celebrated.

I’m ashamed of the things I thought about Disability when I was newly Disabled over a decade ago.

I see newly Disabled people (mostly Long Covid) making my old mistakes.

They think treatment will come. They think it’s their only hope. They think Disabled life isn’t worth living. 💔💔💔

If you are Disabled, Autistic, Queer, or a parent trying to be the best version of yourself for your kiddo, or you’re an artist/writer working on your craft… we already have something in common!

Also… I watch a ton of TV/film and adore memoir. If we have something in common, I’d love to connect! 🥰
