An invaluable lesson I've learned from studying Jungian psychology is that when a person puts enormous effort into crafting a public persona that's virtuous in highly specific ways, that persona is always a mask for a shadow self whose core traits are the opposite of the persona's virtues.

- make childcare affordable
- run better transport so people can get to jobs
- raise attainment for people of all backgrounds
- improve healthcare for long term sick
- make workplaces accessible
- champion flexible working
So it never works.
