Very little rivals this – a science-fantasy series that is unconcerned with chasing trends. Co-authoring with Catriona Ross has been fantastic, and books 1 and 2 release on February 21.

Solas, as always rocking his hobo chic look acting the big shot when closing the Breach. Garyn at this point is completely clueless while Nerine is shouting LIAR! LIAR! LIAR! Repeatedly.

My extremely elegant son. He's legit just sitting like this, staring blankly, like he forgot what he was doing.

My sweet stupid son.

This lad... He breaks me. I'm quite fond of Garyn Lavellan – and he had some rather tough convos with Dorian about Tevinter and their attitude towards elves.

So, I can say with relative certainty that for the last year that I've been struggling with severe eczema on my lips – it's been due to an allergic reaction to the Raid vaporiser that I've been using to repel mosquitoes.

I'm working my oud back into my music schedule again. I just need to figure out whether I'm going to keep the Syrian tuning or go with another setup.

So glad this arrived. It's always a gamble ordering books from overseas – never know if the post office will lose your parcel.

87k words, chapter 12. I still need to give one more revisions pass after this to smooth Garyn's voice now that I can hear how he talks. Dear dog, will this ever end?

I am so excited to be using my friend Parsley for my interior illustrations. They've got a delightfully whimsical style. This is Rash, from The Splintered Fool series I'm writing with Toby Bennett.

The pyramids of Caral-Supé in Peru, that date to almost 3000 BCE, number among the oldest in the world. Ona Viljoen will share the fascinating history of these structures, situated in what is considered the cradle of civilisation in the Americas.

Book#8 💙

Older female warrior dealing with injury, loss, and change. Gritty, angry, stubborn, and clever. Revenge, rescue, sharp banter, and brutal fights, but with heart and humour throughout.

Exactly my kind of book.

Nearly done with Mexican Gothic by Silvia Moreno-Garcia which as the name suggests is tickling my need for slowly unspooling, dark and atmospheric literature and spooky houses in remote areas.
